How companies exploit consumers by the Use of this Field

The dark side of consumer behavior is that it is hypocritical...

If someone claims that they are against something that a certain company stands for, they should not by from them.

BUT... If that company has the best deal on whatever the individual is looking for, 9 times out of 10, the consumer will buy from them anyway... So it is easy for a corperation to exploit an area of consumers.

An easy way for a company to do this without losing profit, is by selling many other things at their store...

Take a Supermarket for example, they take down the price of say a videogame at christmas time by 10 dollars, and jack up the price of tape by 1 dollar, ornaments by 5 dollars, wrapping paper by 3 dollars, and candy for stockings by 1 dollar...

Someone buys 1 videogame, 1 roll of tape, 1 ornament, wrapping paper, and a bag of candy...

They lose no money what-so-ever, and actually make more money because more shoppers will come to their store for that video game and shop around for other things too...

the darkest side I see is the fact that they [whoever they might be] have us all buying things we don't need, every day something new we don't need, buttttttt
if we stopped buying it would be the end of our economies, regardless of which industrialized country you think of.
