well, for one thing, read the instructions.

for another, it's ok to do bad your first several times.

each time you mess up, you learn what NOT to do

also, you can go to http://www.gamefaqs.com and do a search for the game to see hints and tips and stuff - but i advise against doing that, it'll ruin the experience of the game for you
