Yes some of the manmade ones do. The Aztec Indians who built their capital on what is now Mexico City built floating islands on a lake for floating gardens. "These artificial islands, known as chinampas, were constructed of layers of mud and vegetation within the shallow fresh water lakes. They still exist today."

The Japanese have built many floating islands for a variety of purposes (mainly industrial).

well technically it's connected to a plate of land, which is actually floating on molten lava in the earths core; which is connected to the earth and the earth is floating in space (kind of). so it's like asking, if im' traveling in an aircraft "am i flying?" if it's yes, then yes an island is floating.

no it comes out linked to the bottom of the sea, but it also depends on what it is made of, there are some made out of coral and evethough they are solid you could say they float. islands are normaly created by volcanos if not separated from a continen when they separated from pangea. so it they are made out of volcanos they come out of the sea (yes there are volcanos underneath the sea.
