White pride preaches hate and intolerance

Black pride teaches acceptance into the dominant culture and being proud because being black is been ridiculed over years.

White pride isn't white pride. It is Italian, Welsh, german, Irish, Hungurian, Spanish, Portguese, Greek, you get what I mean.

Black Pride is what? Oh, I sorry but WE can't trace our ancestry. So, the only thing in common is color.

White Pride is not needed because umm, white people are the DOMINANT race in USA.

Blacks are like what 12.9% Whites are complaining about 12.9% compared to 80% of whites? Ok.

White history is learned everyday from Napolean, Einstein, Columbus, Vespucci, Reagan, Nixon, Pilgrims, Boston Massacre, Patriot...

Black history is about paragraph in MOST history books. What black history THERE is happened in America not Africa.

Whites are the majority(80%) and blacks are the minority(12.9%) Why does 80% need more help than 12.9%?

Those are my reason why white pride is racis

I totally and completely agree. Power to the people. Of course you're going to get reported because yahoo answers is run by people who don't want to hear the truth. Just watch. We're all just getting X'd out.

Maybe I'm being ignorant, but doesn't it make sense to teach the majority of history about the majority of the population? Doesn't it also make sense to teach local history that pertains to the nation where it's actually being taught? Is U.S. History the only curriculum taught in African nations with just a small paragraph about black history that happened in Africa? Hmmm.

If black pride is all about African ancestry, etc. why would you want to stay here where you are an oppressed minority? Slavery was abolished long before you were born, so you are free to go live in Africa where you can learn about what happened there if you so desire. As an added bonus, you won't have to deal with whites who dare to have pride in teaching and learning their own cultural heritage as well.

Here is something else that has always bothered me. Why is it OK to have a Miss Black America pageant, but the Miss America Pageant is open to all? Why was Soul Train exclusively for blacks while American Bandstand was open to all? Why is it OK to have exclusively black cultural centers popping up all over the country? Why is it OK for affirmative action when hiring minorities over WASP males? Shouldn't employment be based solely on qualifications rather than quotas? Reverse discrimination is alive and well in America.

Besides, I have never even heard the term white pride. If it does exist, then it shouldn't stand for hate and intolerance. We should be mature enough to get past all that by now....and so should you.

So the majority can't be proud? Maybe if you had more intelligent blacks other than George Washington Carver there would be more than a paragraph in the history books. The reason blacks cant trace anything isn't because of slavery as Africa still has bad record keeping today. It seems like whites have more to be proud of than anybody, medicine, space travel, automobiles, agriculture, computers, science, whit people have done almost everything, so why not be proud, that's not racist that's true!

Um, you have every reason to be proud. What you have to realize about history is: its written by the winners. Not necessarily the best and CORRECT writers, but those who make the rules. And so much of it is WRONG. After a while, only the historians and a few individuals remember what really happened and everyone else buys the lie. Its only been 30 years since racial "equality" and gender equality. I hate to say it, but give it another 10 to 20 years, then we white will be in the minority and you can write the history books. : ) Good luck!

What you are calling "white pride" is racism, but I don't think "white pride" is the correct wording for what you are trying to match up with "black pride".
Wolf of the Northern Lights? Is that the correct meaning of your name?
Yes, whites have their hate groups....as do the blacks...the latino..the asian.....HUMANS.
Where are you getting info that says the whites need more help than the blacks? I think to some of us it appears that blacks get all the breaks when it comes to financial aid for college and also for welfare for single moms. It seems that being a black single mom is a shoe in for help, but a white girl...forget it....she'll get help when hell freezes over. That's just how it appears sometimes.
Also, it's not white history...it's just history. I don't know why the books leave out black folks who have left their mark. Ask the NAACP. If they thought it was important, I'm quite sure they'd be on someone's back by now.
If you want to learn Black History, take a class...they are offered. To me, it's not important...heck I don't care about history anyway. It defines where we are now, and helps give an understanding of why some things are the way they are, but I don't care. I look to the future. And part of the reason it's going to fail is because of folks like you (all ethnic backgrounds) that want to dwell on the past and gripe about it. You can't change the past, just make the future better. But humans are destined to fail because we are all ignorant.....to one extreme or the other.
I wish we could change, but I just don't see it happening.

Any kind of racial pride is racism. Your segregating yourself saying your proud to be "whatever" race. What does one have to be proud of by their race? You should focus on yourself and your own accomplishments. I'm ukrainian, italian and norweign, yet I'm considered white. I don't know any history on Ukraine, Norway or Italy. I can't trace my ancestory to those things anymore then black people trace their ancestory beyound Africa. So I guess I should get my own pride month. And again I don't read of white history in ukraine, italy or norway in school. And history requires historical events. So if tribes in africa stayed to themselves and didn't go conquering the earth, etc, ofcoarse not much in history books to be written. When in most "white" history books were africans even around? Did they fight the crusades? Part of the roman armies? Etc.
Bottom line, stop complaining and focus on your own life.

Addition::::By the way, I find most blacks are not interested in their history, or american history. I'm a big time swing dancer, and blacks are oblivious and most don't care that swing/lindy was started by blacks.

Obviously race is a huge concern in America. That being said, being proud of who you are isn't racist. I'm proud of who I am as I am sure you are proud of who you are.

The touchy part comes when you or I discriminate others for being different from ourselves. I don't, do you?

I can trace my family history for almost a 100 years only from stories from my grandparents without doing any research. Are you saying that because you are black you can't trace your ancestry?

You are correct that white history is what you learn in school. That is a contention I have myself. Is it right? No, but that is the reality we live in. Luckily once in college you can take classes teaching the history of all cultures. Should we teach those histories earlier? Yes, but does that make white kids racists? No.

I think all of us need to lobby to have all versions of history taught in high school. The Mayans, Olmecs, Native Americans, Blacks, Irish, Italians. Hell, even the white history is a collection of nice, convenient colection of dates and quotes.

We learn the name of Benedict Arnold but not the true reason of why he was wrong. We learn of our founding fathers but not of their true religious affiliations and why they wanted separation of church and state.

Read about Benjamin Franklin and his views on Christianity. Eye opening.

1.Black people CAN trace their ancestry through DNA.

2. Being proud of your ethnicity does NOT make anyone racist, but writing like this makes you look paranoid.

3. I am extremely proud of my British ancestry and NO one can ever call me racist because I defend everyone when there is intolerance.

4. You want more Black history then instead of looking in a history book, go out and read more about it, bookstores are filled with great Literary works by amazing black authorslike Laghnston Hughes, Frederick Douglad, Maya Angelou and so on, and years of years of black history. You will also find many history books about the history of Africa. (Yes there IS black history in countries that are not America...just go out and find it!)

5. There have been MANY oppressed people in the world, not just blacks. Massive and deadly discrimination againts Jews in Europe, Genocide of Armenians in Turkey, Concentration camps for Japanese in America in WW2 and countless other tragedies...I mean there is still slavery and ethnic cleansing in Africa like Darfur and the slavery of Christians! Yes, this is still happening today in 2006!)There is so much hatred in the world and it is directed towards everyone not just a single group.

Why do we need to label people black or white or Asian or this or that to begin with? Why can t we just accept that we are all HUMAN, and we all have our own special unique attributes? Also there is nothing wrong with being proud to be "what you are." I can t stand white people who seem "ashamed" to be white...how ridiculous is that? I also hate how modern culture is now making white people feel that way...like, oh...you re Anglo saxon. You re so...eighties. You re out of style, now. How can you make a whole race of people OUT OF STYLE? Reverse racism is still racism.

sweetie, white pride is not racist. white supremecy is racist. i am white, but i am half irish/half swiss. i am proud of my ancestry, and who i am today. i do not feel that i am better than anyone else whom is of a different race or ethnicity than i.
you cannot say that white people who take pride in who they are are racist, without in fact making a racist out of yourself. that would be like me saying that all black ppl are thugs or crack heads. you cannot place judgement on a group of ppl because of tha actions or beliefs of one or some. it just doesn't work like that. How old are you? i'm just wondering because when i was in high school, i learned a lot about ppl of all cultures. i think you need to understand that there are far more important things to be concerned about than things like this that really make you sound like a hippocrite.
