Only for himself and his Pharmaceutical friends. He outlawed the US Govt. from doing it, but not the private companies, like Merck for example. Private corporations can do all they want.

Bush ok'd using the existing stem cell lines already in the labs. He has said no consistently to the taking of new lines for government funded research.

For those of you who don't care about the pre-born, and you think stem cell research is so overwhelmingly important, go ahead and fund it. Find a company that does it and invest or find a private university with a program and donate, what about the Christopher Reeves Foundation?

Why do you insist that government money from people who believe that abortion is murder must use those funds on research using fetal materials? If that happens, just to be fair, pubic universities should be able to use public funds to prove the existence of God to atheists or maybe to prove that global warming doesn't exist.

No he does not for the reason you state in your question. I predict he will get sick with a disease that can possibly be helped by stem cell and he will instantly change his mind about stem cells just like the hypocrite Reagens did when Ronnie got Alzheimer's and fat stupid Maureen went around the country begging for research money. Bushie will send out Jenna and Barbara and Laura to beg for money also. I hope people call them out for their hypocrisy and ask why the did not help people before. How ironic the Reagen would cut the funding every year when he was President. I guess he never thought it would happen to him.

He opposes using embryonic cells for stem cell research. This hearkens back to his opposition to abortion, not stem cell research. He supports using stem cells from umbilical cords and funded current research but forbade acquiring any new embryonic cells. Just be patient, this will probably end with his administration regardless of who get elected in '08.

No he does not support EMBRYONIC stem cell research. There is NO promise in Embryonic stem cell research not ONE disease has been treated or cured with Embryonic stem cell research.
ADULT stem cell research DOES already treat diseases AND shows promise for others.
We cannot ask for God's miracle if we are willing to destroy it.
Abortion and Embryonic Stem Cell research are pure evil.

He is personally having Dick Cheney grow him a new brain as his is burnt out from to much boos and crack cocaine. But Tricky Dicky has one on him he will replace his brain with a chimpanzees and he will show remarkable improvement though he will have to be trained to quit eating bananas when he is giving speeches.
George will also need a tree to sleep in as he will want to feel as if he is at home in Africa. Finally George will understand why he makes all the monkey expressions as he has a chimps brain.

Does Bush even understand the meaning of those words (let alone the science behind it)?

I think not.

I don't think so. And I DO want a president who takes a firm stand against all liberal causes (as opposed to one who is a moderate, or tries to please everyone).
