We are treated differently because they fear us. They are intimidated by us a humans because of the torture that we faced in slavery AND because we are still maintaining.
Racism or shall I say prejudice is based off of ignorance and self-degradation.
In most corporate settings, whether you are black, white, latino, asian etc.. you just have to know how to play the game.
How to erase it...be excellent in what you do. Learn how to achieve despite the odds. Corporate America is not privy to degrading you, they just do not want the next person to excel.
Basically we (minorities) are the tie that binds. Just to think if every minority left Corporate America..it will fail over night! Trust!
Keep ya head up and pray without ceasing! Change is now here.

Maybe if you blacks would cut the lawsuits every time you didn't get promoted (when you think you should have been), and stop letting Jackson and Sharpton do your talking for you every time there is a corporate dispute, people might stop "fearing" so much, and replace that with "respecting".
Sometimes corporate treats blacks unfairly; there's no question about that. But sometimes they don't, and there's a perceived disadvantage where a realistic disadvantage doesn't exist.
Continued cries of "racism" hurts the relationship between whites and blacks. You're tired of being treated differently, we're trying to accommodate, and there's always someone who will find fault in anything we do to please you.
White guy: "That black person"
Black guy: "I'm African American".
Okay.... and then...
White guy: "that African American" person...
Different Black guy: "I'm not from Africa".
Lots of people don't even know what to say without "offending" a black person. And the community itself doesn't always welcome people who ARE tolerant.
We need to come together and understand each other. But even the basics aren't always understood, and many white people who do want to mend those bridges aren't able to because we're ridiculed for trying hard.
I hope the healing can begin.

Actually, there is no such things as races, we just look diferently in different areas and regions.
There is no real way of completely eradicating racism, there will always be some people who differ from the rest, thus you can't force a person to think different from what he or she does already, maybe convincing them, but no success is guaranteed.

Because they're expected to have a much different culture than natural corporate culture. The one's who prove themselves truly to be of the corporate identity usually don't have much of a problem at all.

Because its easier to draw reference to white people in Corporate American than black people.Since black people are the minority in America besides affirmative action, white corporate Americans determine how they run thier companies and since you know how affirmative action works that answers your question.

The reason why is you cannot change history. Blacks have their history as well as whites.
Their history is different. We draw upon these to distinguish ourselves.
Sorry, but that's just the way it is and gonna be for a long time. But to really stand out, just be a GIVING person. That's better than being black or white.

I have not seen any African Americans being treated any differently in any places I've worked. Can you give some examples?

There will ALWAYS be racism, sadly enough. But it isn't only towards African Americans...ok?

Maybe if they acted equal they would get treated equally. Whites have tried to not to see color and treat people equally but it is difficult when blacks always remind us they are black and therefore are somehow special, here is a news flash here is a newsflash....life sucks for everyone.
Or maybe you meant all the preferential treatment they get
