There were 3 reasons I believe:
1) There was a stalker following the couple. The stalker said that he wanted to be emotional with Hilary, and in order to do that, he had to get Joel out of the way.
2) The age difference is I believe 7 years. Joel is 27 while Hilary is only 19.
3) I think Joel wanted kids or something like that. I'm not sure. Hilary said she wanted to save that till she got married.

Yes. They broke up a few weeks ago. There are two possible reasons. The first one is the drama caused by the stalker threatening everyone. Joel wanted more peace. The second one is that Joel wanted less drama from the younger Hilary. Both sound like good reasons and they could be both.

Yes. Joel is supposendly dating Nicole Richie now..... the reason they broke up was the age difference was getting too complicated for them, and they media always made up rumors about them.. and no, Hilary is not dating Pete from Fall Out Boy or whoever..... I am a HUGE Hilary fan, so i hear/read everything that happens with Hilary;)

I could have sworn that they did a few weeks ago but for some reason, recent articles about a restraining order say that they're still together.
If they did, how would we know the reason and why should we? It's their business.

i think she really need to broke up with joel, coz joel's a bad influence to hilary, hilary is a nice girl, i dun want her to be a mean girl. but i think they didn't broke up, i just hope so!

I watched on E- Entertainment like last week and it said they did because of there age difference but i read in a magazine that they didnt so i dont know!

I agree with the only few real people here. Why do you even care? How will knowing this benefit you? Are you so caught up into all this drama that it's the only major source of pleasure in your life?

Well, lets all start talking about the lives of people that we dont even know but wish we were. let us post stories all over the internet about people, just because they were in some movie or tv show. lets obsess about them and care about who they are dating. lets follow them around and take pictures of them, lets idolize them, just because they happen to be famous.
Why the hell do you f***ing care. I mean honestly, why do people give a crap which celebrity is dating some person, why does it matter, they arent our friends or family, we dont even know them, people that do this just piss me off, why do you freaking care.
