i saw grissom working with pencil lead to track prints. is it possible to do that on my own?

Isn't that the episode where he was in a small mountain town and the sherrif was giving him a hard time?

He used a Mortar and Pestle to grind the mechanical pencil leads into a graphite powder. He used that power and clear cellophane packing tape to lift finger prints from the steering wheel of the car he found in the barn. He used a mylar or plastic bag, red and black battery leads, a 6volt motorcycle battery to lift the footprint from the cardboard or plastic that the killer had stepped on.

You probably could do this, if you had the proper training and could improvise in the field.

You would think most of the things they do on the program are true. I know an investigation does not go that fast but the techniques should be real. Try it and see if it works
