He can sprint, break tackles by the numbers and is very strong. He is number 1 in the nfc in rushing, and third in the league behind LJ and LT. But he averages more yards per carry than both of these guys with 5.5 yards per carry. I mean LT nor LJ can do that. And frank gore has hands, he also like a receiver. If he can average more yards more carry than LT or LJ, and be a good receiver, I think he is better than both of them. Gore also rushed for 100 yards, against the chiefs, chargers, and the BEARS. I dont think LT could do that against his own charger defense or against the bears. He has rushed fo 1491 yards, and would be the rushing leader, but has 100 carries less than LT or LJ. So technically, if he got as many handoffs as LT or LJ, he would be number 1. Who thinks frank gore is the best RB in the NFL? I do.

He's not underrated--he's STARTING FOR THE NFC IN THE PRO-BOWL! Sounds about right to me.

However, no sane fan would really want Gore over Tomlinson. Get real. LT is the league MVP and possibly the best RB since Barry Sanders or Jim Brown, and Frank Gore has a fumbling problem.

Wow where do I start? Well first of how can u say Gore is underrated, hes the starting rb for the nfc pro bowl game. 2nd to say that hes better than LJ and LT, wat r u retarded?
1)He may average more for carry but thats about the only stat u have on him. He has 80 carries more than LJ but only 40 more than LT, exaggeration on ur part.
2)Yea his a good receiver but so his LJ and LT. LT has more receiving yards than him and both Lj and Lt average more yds per catch.
3)Plz dont bring schedule into account. Johnson and Tomlinson both played each others defenses twice, along wit 2 games against denver and one against the Ravens. Also in the games against LT and LJ Frank Gore didnt play great.
4) Frank Gore is great but he puts the ball on the ground too much. He leads all rbs wit 6 fumbles, no wonder SF can trust him to punch in the scores now and then.

It takes time -- this is the very first year anyone would have ever heard of Frank Gore, and he's playing for a team that's not in the spotlight and that gets little attention. LT has been in the public eye as a big-time RB for 7-8 years, going back to his success in college. I'd never heard of Gore myself til a few weeks ago. He evidently wasn't a big-time college baller and didn't do much as a rookie.

Frank Gore is very underrated, but, he wont get the credit he deserves until he gets moved to another team. He is not a touchdown machine but he will get his yards in week-in week-out. If you want to talk UNDERRATED, go to St.Louis and find Steven "Action" Jackson. Jackson is twice as underrated as Gore because people only see how powerful he is in breaking tackles and giving stiff arms and don't see the the agility and not as much of his speed is expressed. Larry Johnson I personally think is overrated because he has the best Offensive line whereas Jackson only has Orlando Pace who is out for the season.

Next year when the Niners make the playoffs...you'll hear a lot of talk about Farnk Gore...

Edit: to all the people saying he has a fumbling problem, if my memory stands correct LT had 8 fumbles his first season, so obviously its something that can easily fixed...also refer to Tikis fumble problem....

I have watched alot of games and I have to agree with you Frank Gore is just on the wrong team. (sad but true). I mean think of the Bears with Gore...anyhow (sorry pipes dream) I was amazed at the speed of Gore. I mean he is so short and so stocky that you wouldn't think he could sprint as well..

i agree...my fav football team is the 49ers and ive been looking at the way gore plays and he sure can play...yea ur rite about him getting the ball less and averaging bout 5.5 yrds per carry...he is clearly the best...all he needs now is for his team to get better...u wait next year and he'll be number 1...u noe y...because the 49ers are getting better already...they're still a young team...n its only frank gore's second year...

Frank Gore isn't as good as LT because he fumbles a lot more often and he's less consistent.

I'm not sure he's underrated, it's just that this is his first big season in the league. Any player will be underrated until he proves he can sustain this level of play over multiple seasons. He's not underrated in my book since he's barely keeping me in my fantasy league.

It's because the 49ers are not having the best year. Although they are much improved over last year. They are playing pretty good though.
