This is for people with kids. I don't believe in god so I don't celebrate christmas, when I have kids I don't want them to think they are being punished or left out when their friends get presents and they don't. Is there anyone in this situation already and what do you do? Sincerely,

Mervin DePervin

Note: I don't plan on thanking anyone for not using enough logic to realize the truthand in doing so causing me a headache down the road. Also if you celebrate christmas please do not respond. Thanks.

I think of holidays as bad weather. Treat them like any hurricane or tornado. Supply well enough to get through. Buckle down and wait for it to blow over.

Isn't it festivus for the restofus??

Make up your own traditions and just celebrate "giving" with no name. All kids should learn that value.

Christmas is a pagan holiday anyway.

I know how hard it is however to teach your children to learn something other than what the mass majority is doing. I am vegetarian and my family is against it. Its been rough trying to show my daughter a different way of thinking.

If you make it fun for them, and instill your own values they will appreciate that and not feel like they got left out as much. Maybe you could get really creative and celebrate in later January. Just ideas, but make it fun and they'll feel better or at least accept you more for who you are.

I believe in the God and don't celebrate Christmas only because Christmas has nothing to do with God. Everything from the so called Christmas Tree to the presents underneath them have nothing to do with God. Dec. 25 is not the birth date of the one that they call Jesus. The only thing that has to do with God is The name Christmas.

Why don't you just celebrate Santa Clause like the rest of them that don't believe in God? The holiday is really about him anyway.

Look within yourself, what is important to yourself. If you are solid in your reasons than you can explain this to your children, and there should be no confusion, you are the parent and they are growing up with your values!

I would thank the good Christian men and women who decided to celebrate the birth of Christ and give you a holiday.
