How can I play a music background in a PowerPoint 2003 presentation all the way through without having to clip

From start to end. The sound should be encripted and should not show any icons on the screen. Thanks?

These steps are for 03 but they sould be similar as long as your not using a 9x version or before.

The easiest way is

Insert>Movies and sounds>Sound from file... choose the file... tell it to start automaticly...

PP will put the icon in the middle of the frame/stage, click on the icon and drag it off the stage into the grey area, it'll still play in the background...

Now you need to make these settings to the sound...

With the sound icon selected
SlideShow>CustomAnimation...
Right click on the object in the side bar -
Effects options -
Start From - Beginning (This should be defult because of the above setting)
Stop Playing - After (x)slides (x is the number of slides in your presentation)

Timing - Repete - Untill end of slide (this should cause the sound file to loop until you end the last slide)

Sound Settings -
Sound volume (Adjust as needed)
Display Options - check hide sound icon during show.
