They are racists, the lowest form of humanity. And, they are feebleminded. They do not even know what N.A.F.T.A. is or that the trade agreement has problems. And, they are too ignorant and uninformed to head off the inevitable turmoil caused by unchecked Republican greed-based outsourcing of Mexican and American jobs to third world nations. Republican plundering has made it much more difficult for the working class to keep good jobs, in Mexico or the U.S.. Only the lowlifes, like racists, are blaming their problems on the poor guy one rung lower on the ladder just trying to hang on, too. This remains a racist issue as long as the U.S. businesses and employers who criminally invite and hire undocumented foreign nationals are not arrested, too, and prosecuted for breaking our laws. They hire Mexicans, work them like dogs, deduct our nation's "taxes and comp" from their pay, pocket that money for themselves because they cannot very well turn the money in to the government or they would be caught in their crimes, all rather than pay U.S. citizens a decent wage. And, all the while xenophobic racist morons are being used as a distraction, the big boys, as Bush announced last week, are building politically upon the economic N.A.F.T.A. agreement to include NO BORDERS at all between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Those moronic vigilantes, not associated with proper government agencies, who think they are guarding the borders are an embarrassment.

Some months ago I answered a question on "illegal immigration" on this site; I suggested that "Americans must take their country back". At the time, I have never heard about "The Minuteman" - a citizens' Vigilance Operation monitoring immigration, business, and government.

On learning more about the group and its activities (NOT a separatist, racist, or supremacy group) I thought THIS is the ONE AMERICAN group which is the most pro-active and perfect for its stated objectives to secure the country's border. A job the government has failed to act upon. I think the Minutemen is timely and nescessary.

It's a nice, but useless effort. Our government is being run by corporate money, and they demand cheap labor. Therefore, the border is mostly ignored, as well as our immigration laws. If your own government won't do anything, any real effort in the private sector is useless. The people that sneak in here are paid under-the-table without paying taxes, and our tax money is paying for their medical, housing, welfare, and schooling their children. Illegal aliens enjoy many benefits that citizens of this country can't get. This is because of corruption that reaches clear up to the president himself. This once great country has been sold to the highest corporate bidder. Our standard of living is constantly being attacked by these crooks. These corrupt leaders have nothing but the corporations interest in mind. Therefore, they don't care, and will not stop until we all live 5 families to a house with dirt floors and eat beans and bread while breaking our backs. No, there is nothing we can do until we stop this wholesale slave trade funded by honest taxpayers.

The ones who are payed by the government or the ones who are taking the role on themselves?

If the first - they are just doing their jobs.

If the second - well, the politics surrounding immigration across the border are a mess. Our system is a bureaucratic Gordian knot that must be untied from a higher place than these people. However, fanaticism is rarely solid ground.

I think they need to be applauded. As long as they are not hurting anybody they caught.

Illegal immigrants crossing the border without proper paperwork are offensive and exploitative, i am Filipino and i work hard for my paperwork and going through all the red tapes just to get my visa.

illegal immigrant just flagrantly violate the laws by unlawfully crossing U.S. borders to work and to receive publicly-funded services, often with the aid of fraudulent documents.

Apologists for illegal immigration like to paint it as a victimless crime. But in fact, illegal immigration causes substantial harm to American citizens and legal immigrants, particularly those in the most vulnerable sectors of our population--the poor, minorities, and children.

Illegal immigration causes an enormous drain on public funds. The seminal study of the costs of immigration by the National Academy of Sciences found that the taxes paid by immigrants do not cover the cost of services received by them. We cannot provide high quality education, health care, and retirement security for our own people if we continue to bring in endless numbers of poor, unskilled immigrants.

That's why we need to thank them for doing their job.

I'm 50/50 on this subject. On one side, I'm all for protecting our country. On the other hand, the border patrol can get pretty stereotypical. If you even look like a drug dealer(such as having long hair, and maybe a mustasch) then they think you're a drug dealer. Not sure where to put my decision, so I'll just stay in the nuetral zone.

I think they are true patriots. If only the ACLU would stop trying to deter them.
