something may be wrong with the disk.
try downloading the drivers from the website.

you need to leave it unplugged while you install drivers,
then plug it in either when directed, or when its done.

make sure you are not attempting to use a usb 2.0 camera with a usb 1.1 slot.

it works if the camera is 1.1 and the slot is 2.0, but not the other way.

Check your Windows/PC System requirements. Click START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/SYSTEM TOOLS/SYSTEM INFORMATION.

There, you should find your PC's current system information. Now, compare it to the system requirements of the web cam, printed somewhere on the box itself. You may find your current PC system settings do not match or exceed those needed for proper product / software installation.

That's one suggestion, from there, it may be a missing driver issue and I'd check the webcam manufacturer's website for more insight on that possibility.

1st of all where did you get the webcam?
Was it given to you?
Do you have Windows XP? and if so, is the webcam XP compatable? (not all webcams are.."The older ones".)
If it's a new webcam, and it just REFUESES to install, then it should be still under warrenty...take it back to the store and get a different one.
Your best bet for webcams are LOGITECH.
Also, what are the errors that you are getting?
