I love him to death but damn...he gets LOUD! Tried everything from patches, nasel strips, throat spray...nothing works! I have to poke him and get him to roll over and it helps...until he rolls back over! I hate poking him, makes me feel bad and then I end up on Y!A. He woke the kids last night he got so loud. After 4 years, I thought I would get used to it, but just seems to be getting worse. Is there any relief? I love him, but I need some sleep. I hate to move to the couch or else I would really not sleep since I cant sleep without him beside me. I know, I know, Im screwed...lol but seriously, hasnt anyone else been there?

He needs to go to a doctor. Snoring , especially consistant and loud is a symptom of a medical problem.

I went through this every night for my first year of my marriage! After the first anniversary i just had to get help. It seemed as though after our engagement it got worse. The heavy snoring could be a symptom of sleep apnea which is a serious illness. This turned out to be what my husband was diagnosed with. Sleep apnea is a condition characterized by temporary breathing interruptions during sleep. The pauses in breathing can occur dozens or even hundreds of times a night. Symptoms include loud snoring and a gasping or snorting sound when the sleeping individual starts to breathe again. Although the individual may not be aware of having sleep apnea, the condition can disrupt the quality of sleep and result in daytime fatigue. You two should really visit the doctor and get it checked out! I really hope everything turns out ok because i TRULY understand what you are going through!

There are things he can do medically to control or lessen his snoring. He can go see a dr. about possibly cleaning out/widening his passages in his nose, or possibly lose weight if he needs to. My husband is a firefighter, and only snores on his first day home after a 48 hr. shift due to being extra tired. His first night home is always hard for me, and I have often wondered what I would do if he snored every night. When he does snore I roll him over onto his side, and sleep with earplugs. The earplugs help, but if he did this every night I think I'd make the call to his doctor for him. Good luck!

I am there for you GF My husband rattles the house one thing if he is over weight this will make it worse as it constricts the airway you may notice if he starts losing weight the snoring will stop . My husband did until he picked up weight again.
I have my husband gargle before bed It wets the pallet in the back. drink water They other thing is I make him clip his nose hair out it helps to add more air and less snore. and I sleep with the TV on too.I have him turn away from me.
The thing that scary is when he pulls the sleep apnea on me Where all of a sudden he stops snoring and then chokes for breath. Been trying to get mine to get a sleep study done So maybe he can C pap or BY bap machine so he can sleep better and not be tossing as much . I try to get to sleep before he does.
28 years off and on.of snoring
You know we need to make a support group :)

There is a electronic bedside device used for sleep apnea which often accompanies snoring.
Research sleep labs in your area. This little machine blows air into your partner allowing him to breathe without snoring. The machine is portable for vacations too.
Trust me if you get this machine like my partner did your sleep life will become endurable.
One more thing.
When hubby is asleep, take out a tape recorder and without waking him put it next to him snoring. When he wakes up the next day...play it for him.
You will be surprised when he says:
"I really sound like that?"

I can relate to your snoring nightmare. To no avail, my husband has tried thousands of snore aides...nothing worked.
Your husband may need friendly persuasion to go to the doctor. (I say this because my husband was in denial of his snoring). He had to chase half a dozen of our relatives out of the house before he considered getting help...
Finally, he had surgery on his sinus and nasal passage but I am the one losing sleep because I miss his snoring. My story is a no-win situation...

He needs to see an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist because snoring can be corrected. After the procedure, he should be good as new.

Oh, yea, I've been there! Got to the point I COULD NOT sleep in the same bed with him. I used to stay up as long as I could til I was SOOO tired that I could fall asleep right away. Lots of married couple sleep in separate beds because of problems like that.

i go thru this every night....i feel your pain. i know you said you tried sprays, but there is a brand new one out....i cant remember the name of it, id check walgreens.com, but ima try that on my man......i average only 1 to 2 hours of sleep a night if he falls asleep before me...thank god im a sound enough sleeper that if i fall asleep first, i can sleep thru him snoring, a tornado, etc. Good luck * i found the name of it: it is Sinus Buster Capsaicin Pepper Nasal Spray and there is another called Silent night, if you havent tried either.* *and also, severe snoring like that could be a sign of sleep apnea, he might want to have that checked out.
