I bought a fish from Wal*Mart today. They told me what kind, and I looked on the tank and on the bag... but I can't remember anymore and I threw the bag away.

I thought it had an odd name, but that could very well be wrong. It's black, a couple inches long but not overly large. It's completely black with no other colour, and has pretty bulbous eyes. It has a large v-shaped tailfin.

Also, this is not a fish to eat :-P It is a live fish, as though a pet, and it is not a betta.

It is a cold water fish. I remember the tank said it was a peaceful fish.

I don't think it was anything so obvious as a guppy or a black goldfish, because I would definitely remember that. Does anyone have a picture of a black goldfish? I can't seem to find one. And it's quite a bit larger than any of the regular goldfish we bought.

It's a black moor goldfish XD I think whomever stated that Wal*Mart came up with a cool name was right. I'll credit the girl who said a black moor ^_^

I would get a Betta and a few Cherry shrimp in a 5 gallon. Not only is the tank quite small, those animals thrive in that environment. Bettas are very low maintenance and very pretty to look at. They also have great personalities and are very active. Whatever you do do not get anything less than a 5 gal (20 liter) tank for a betta, no matter what pet store owners say don't get those tiny little bowls for them! It is just cruelty! Anyway have fun with your new fish!

Sounds like a moor. Please read up on what it takes to keep goldfish healthy and happy.

Also, if this is a new tank, you'll need to ready up on what happens in a new tank and how to keep the water from getting toxic.

It's similar to a goldfish, but I don't know it's name.

You can feed it goldfish food.

I raise fancy guppies, and I have lots of them.

They are the only tropical fish I have luck with.

I think that Wal-Mart made-up a
name to make it SOUND cool.
But then again, I'm not sure that anyone there is really that clever.
Sorry I guess I'm really no help at all.
