As a fedex driver I'm already under a lot of stress but today made it shoot up to the almost unbearable level. I was delivering a package in a black suburb of chicago today when on my way back to my truck a young black man started calling me whitey and all sorts of curse words! As I heard what he was saying I couldnt believe my ears! I was really shocked! I didnt say or do anything at all to give him reason to say this and I never said anything back as I walked back to my truck. I would like to know your thoughts on this and if you ever had a similar experience.

Patter developing: My sister was nearly killed when a black guy ran a stop sign and t-boned her motorcycle nearly killing her.
My mom has had her purse stolen three times, all by black men.
We've had our van stolen, by a black man.
This is the truth and it's disturbing to say the least.

Not trying to judge any one but there's a lot of ignorant people out there in this world. People will talk regardless. It doesn't matter where you go there will be talk. You shouldn't be troubled with this because you are a better person than that. Just by reading your question is proof enough to know. It doesn't matter what color a person's skin is, there's people like that all around. I'll break it down some more; there's people like that all around, lost and without Jesus. You are strong and that my friend is very good. But you made one little teeny tiny mistake. You forgot to pray for him. Your strength shows your heart. Please by all means keep up the good work.

A clear example of racism, no doubt. And it just goes to show you that racism isn't a "white people only" issue.
I had a petty encounter two days ago, a few hours after a long and stressful day at work (Christmas season sucks). As I was walking in the parking lot of the YMCA, I noticed a medium sized SUV following me slowly, and slightly ahead of me, to my left. It slowed down and the windows rolled down, and it looked as if the passengers had water balloons. I kept my eye on them and they just kind of laughed and sat there. Finally, as I was walking onto the curb near the doors of the YMCA, one of them yelled "wassup my n*gger?". I couldn't tell what his ethnicity/race was because it was during the nighttime, but I'm pretty sure he was either black or Asian. I told him to get a f*cking life and flicked him off, I have been dealing with lots of idiots within the past week and this just pissed me off. However, I wouldn't say I was offended, because the word is (on the surface) just a word, and it's not like I've heard it before.
(sorry if this was long)

Yes, I have. I went to a mostly black school when I was a child. Everyday at school, I heard about how horrible the White Man was for some crimes in the past. They want to take out their frustrations of past injustices on anyone they can, but not every white person is a racist. I'm sorry for your experience, but it happens. Every race takes it and gives it out. It's a bi-product of living in a multicultural nation. Unfortunately, we all still have a long way to go. But by ignoring the comments you did the right thing. There is no point in engaging in such a wasteful argument. Your job gives you enough stress.
One day, race won't matter. Someday.

To Ling, Maybe its because American whites teach themselves and others that they are wrong and racist and responsible for all the evil. In other countries the people who set the curriculum do not allow others to criticize them. Both exteemes are wrong and cause more trouble than ever. And hey, it is American Hollywood that is teaching many evils the world over, if i just knew Americans from TV, i would ban them out of my country too.

Some folks simply have nothing better to do than try and start trouble of some kind.
Regardless of his color - perhaps if this young man were required to work or serve military time for his country as opposed to sitting around he might end up being a more rounded person.
Truth is - too many of our young men of all colors - have too much time on their hands!
Wake up America - your young men should be learning how to provide for a family, protecting the freedoms of us all, standing for something worthwhile!

Racism happens on both sides of the coin. What you did was pretty much the only thing you can do. Eventually that person will realize that he's not going to get a response. It kind of takes the power of racism away from the racist.

Brother you got lucky discovering this so late in life. Where I went to school I was part of the "White minority" I can't count the number of physical, verbal, and group attacks on me and other white kids.
Welcome to the real world how you like it?
And Ling as seen in a later post can go F himself

Please don't judge all black people by one outrageous incident. He was obviously a jerk...
** As many instances that you have of a black person committing a crime- there are just as many whites or others doing the same thing. Plus who is to say all of your facts and details are the truth? Give it a rest. You had a clear motive when you posted today, and it wasn't as innocent as it initially seemed.

What i think is that that guy was a complete asshole.
I don't understand why race is important. And i don't understand why you felt the need to add those details about black people committing crimes against you and your family.
You're insinuating that those crimes were committed against you because they were black, and you, white? Not hardly.
Being robbed 3x while living in a black neighborhood, i can assure, assholes don't discriminate.

Well, I think it's a huge crock for people to act like that. Now if the role had been reversed?.....it probably would have made national headlines. I'm sorry you had to go through that.
