I learned through the net that Female workers can't sponsor their family for residence visa. II just got a good offer in a food company and I would like to get my daughter here in the Philippines so that we could live together in Dubai or Sharjah. What are my options? Would appreciate all the advice because I can't bear not to be with my daughter. It took me 7 years to have a baby... In my research, with the salary I was offered I could hire a maid. I will be bringing my present caretaker to look after my child.

Hi,

A husband can be a sponsor when he earns more than DHS 4000. The same privelige is not available to a forgein woman, even if she earns more than the stipulated salery.

Exceptions are made for doctors, teachers and nurses who earn DHS 6.000 a month or more, because of the lack of these professionals among the locals.

It's problem faced by many women who got a divorce or became a widow. If these women would like to stay in the country but do not belong to the a.m. group, they have to bring their children out of the country.

These rules have been in place for the past three decades just to avoid misuse.

Sorry!
