Absolutely! If you are in the presence of another person, it isn't right to be chatting on your cell. If it is an important call that you must take, apologize and step out of the room. But to sit there in front of your friend and talk to someone else when you should be paying attention to them is just rude. I hate it when people do it to me and try as much as I can not to do it to other people. The only time there is a reason to be on the phone in the presence of a friend is if you are in the car. And even then, you should apologize and make the conversation as short as possible and call the person back later.

definite! that's actually impolite and examine each good to be disillusioned and walk out (i imagine it replaced into large of you to attend an finished hour)! If she's a chum well worth holding, you need to basically enable her keep in mind that you cost her friendship, yet that you don't love having to anticipate her at the same time as she's on the phone, fantastically because it kind of sounds like that's befell more beneficial than once. If she's an excellent chum, she'll comprehend that she's being disrespectful. I once said 2 acquaintances sitting at dinner in a eating position, and between the ladies replaced into on the phone 0.5 the time (good up until eventually the nutrition arrived)! i could not trust it. do not human beings understand how impolite that is and that i choose human beings would basically end speaking on their damn phones in eating places.

I think cell phones have made for a generation of very rude people.
Would you go out with a friend and leave them when you saw another friend? If you have manners you would never do that. I don't see any difference when you talk on the phone while you're with someone else.
Even talking on the phone when you're with your children.

It definitely is. Whenever a friend of mine (the same one!) calls ME to hang out I always go pick him up and he is talking on his cell phone. It happens every time! I don't really care, but what pisses me off is I always have to turn my music down because HE is on the phone in MY car. So since he is rude to me I get him back by turning up my music really loud.

Yes that is, by all means, Rude. Taking a call, telling the caller you will get back to them then focusing on the friend would be the proper way to handle this. Or not take the call at all.

It is very rude. I sometimes simply get up and walk out on people for taking phone calls. If I am at a restaurant, I would definitely get up and walk out. Otherwise, I would start talking on the phone with someone else myself.

Yes, very rude There is nothing worse than standing beside someone while they have their own private conversation and totally exclude you. You don't know whether to leave or what.
Actually if I was left there for more than a five minutes I would leave.

It depends on the call you are attending to.If its a call that is needed to be answered at that time and you are talking on cell phone, then it cant be rude. But if you just talk to someone which is not important at that moment while being with your friend, then it can be rude.
But it also depends on how your friend reacts to such situations. If he or she doent like such things to happen then better not try to get into such situations when you are with him/her,as it can make her feel rude of you.But if your friend does not mind it,then it doesnot matter at all...

Yes, deary, that is very rude. I have a friend that does that. Only its her boyfriend, and one other of her friends. And it is so rude, and so annoying. I don't know if it's you doing it, or if someones doing it to you. But, think of it this way, you planned to hang out. Go out together, spend time together. Not for one of you to be on the phone the WHOLE GOD DAMN TIME. It's very disrespectful.
