i tried it out and i look like a midget with it...when i watched bourne supremacy jason bourn wore it and he's not tall but more on the average height 5"9-5"10...but he still got some good inches on me..and it looked good on him...but yeah is it only suite ppl on the average height to taller side?

Length of the overcoat is the key. If you remember how Bourne looked in the overcoat, check out where the bottom of the coat was in relation to his body. Use Google Images and search for "overcoats". Check those out and you will see how different sized people look. Shorter people will choose coats that end higher on the leg then will taller people. A very long coat on a short person will hide too much leg and, yes, you will look like a midget.

Most overcoats that I shop for [Parisan's and Saks Fifth] are in chest and length sizes. For instnace, my size is 42M, meaning 42-inch chest with a medium length. It comes to slightly above my knees.
Also, the way it looks also depends on the color. The camel/tan color usually makes it looks shorter and black usually looks longer. Soo, just go to a really good clothing store and have someone in the outerwear department assist you.

I think that color, length and cut of a coat really matters. You don't have to be tall to look good in an overcoat but you do have to select a coat to favor your body shape more.

If you can't find one for your height first search for one in a petite size and that does not work find one you love and take it to a tailor.

Mind you taller people women or men look better in clothes than short people do, we look less dumpy! im five nine!

it's not just size that makes an over coat look good, but frame structure as well. someone who is large build, but small framed would look down right silly in one. but me... well... i look dead sexy in one!!
