I have had the spirit since ........oh ..........about October, but then last week I was just wishing it would just all go away. Come to find out it was just PMS. my hormones are back to normal and I'm just as jolly as ever.

I understand, I'm there, too. I have a new job, it is stressful, and I just did not put up the trees, or put out the collections, got a couple candles out for downstairs, and a couple for upstairs. I did put my lighted decorations up in the windows, but not all of them.
So, don't mope and groan about it, get there! Do something! Go out and look at the neighbors lights, bake somebody some cookies, go to church, get a bag of canned goods together and take them to the food bank, put a couple bucks in the red kettle, whatever it takes.
I went grocery shopping, and bought prime rib and crab legs for Christmas, and the stuff to make: a cheesecake, my cheese/garlic/onion spread, white chocolate pretzels, and some chip and dip and soda and some bubbly for New Years! It worked, now I'm looking forward to Christmas day, and New Years day, I have those off from work.
And my birthday is coming up too!
Merry Christmas!

Hard to say not knowing your circumstances. Many ppl who have had a hard year just don't feel happy, even at Christmas time. Some ppl have had losses and Christmas just reminds them of their losses. Oops, now you're making me depressed. Anyway, just remember that Christmas is a celebration of Jesus' birth. A baby born under humble circumstances , worked with his hands as a carpenter and died on the cross so that everyone who accepts him as saviour will have eternal life. The presents, baked ham and cookies are fine, but Christmas really is about Christ.

Maybe it's because Christmas has become so taboo lately. No one is aloud to say it in public anymore. Stores aren't acknowledging it beyond the "Holiday Season" and it's become more a shun than a celebration. We don't even have Christmas trees anymore - they are now holiday trees. It become more sad than anything that we can't even enjoy one of the most important and special days anymore outside of our homes. People are afraid to say Merry Christmas now because lawsuits get slapped on them. Merry Christmas to you and I hope you find your spirit soon and enjoy it.

You have come to your senses after being bombarded year after year by Christmas displays being set up in retail stores before Halloween. The meaning is lost, and is basically a way to annually bolster sales of things we don't really need. Say 'Hi.' to the family, have a nice dinner with your sweetie, and let the holiday madness blow by.

because you haven't had to punch someone in the face for the last new elmo doll at the toy store. thats why. lol.
well up here in the northeast, snow signals the holiday season. no snow means less holiday spirit. the expectations we have for weather really affect our moods. like when a rainy summer seems shorter.

Do you not know the love of Jesus Christ? If you need to be in the spirit go and donate some time at a soup kitchen. Go to the dollar store buy 10 toys and give them to needy kids. GIVE GIVE GIVE, and the Christmas spirit will find YOU! GOD BLESS YOU and Merry Christmas!
