I found www.fool.com to be very helpful. They have a start page where they teach you about investing. The link is below. You can also try their books; they're called The Motley Fool's Guide to Investing. You might also want to subscribe to a magazine, like Money. I joined an investment club through www.bettor-investing.org, and that was very helpful: everyone learned together.
Stocks are a great place to start, and it's easier than ever. You can start with very little money by buying a few shares at a time, until you learn what you are doing.
Good luck!

Try Sharebuilder.com, they are the easiest online stock broker. You'll learn how to trade stocks easily with them!

It's also very cheap to invest with them. Just $4 to buy stocks!

Just go to http://www.sharebuilder.com/ and check out the Investor Starter Kit at the Retail Store.
