Yes, many studnets and teacher become freinds. I became freinds with both my Chemestry and Music teacher in High School.
If you are just trying to be freinds, let things work out. A freindship is something that shoudl develope outside the classroom, and both parties should be on the same page. Let her know and discuss it with her, or just talk to her.
However, if she is unconfortable or unwilling to make a freindshop, don't press the issue, many teachers today must be cearful of the relationships they engage in with student, mainly due to nosey parents who take everythinbg wrong and a school board afraid of scandel. It's sad, but true.

Yes it is very possible when I was in high school I was friends with my science teacher. In fact I took all her classes and it was alot of fun being around her. I am studying to become a teacher myself and I think that having friendships with teachers and students is important because it makes learning easier as well i think it makes teaching kids easier if you know them on a personal level. I am not saying personal like Mary Kay personal but just being able to talk to one another, laugh about things and having fun. I think this makes the classroom and the students feel less pressure between each other and the teacher.

I've become good friends with three of my high-school teachers. I graduated almost three years ago, but I still go by to visit them and I try to talk to them often. No one has ever questioned it- it didn't interfere with my school work and I've enjoyed having these three women as my good friends. But I didn't just go up and say 'Hello, I want to be your friend'... it just sort of happened. I would go to them for advice on school related issues and it just evolved. They're kind of like my aunts.
If you think that anyone will misunderstand a friendship between you and your teacher, though, to the point that you would get in trouble or she could lose her job, then it might be best to hold off.

it is a possibility but why have such a close relationship with your teacher? I understand she's cool but she can lose her job and be looked at in society as... I don't even know but it won't be a good influence on her behalf to everyone else but you. people do judge even through they shouldn't. one day you could be giving her a "friendly" hug, some other teacher might see and think of it as something completely different, blowing it out of proportion telling other teachers or even the principle you and Ms./Mrs. "whatever your music teacher name is" is having a relationship and she can get fired. if i was you i just wouldn't bother trying my possibilities.
I just hope my info. helps, have a wonderful christmas and a safe new years

Roles like teacher-student provide an imbalance of power, and interactions can become full of conflicts of interest. Those obstacles can be overcome, but it isn't easy. Just don't try to force anything. Let things evolve organically. If there is any misunderstanding, then you have pushed when you shouldn't have and need to clarify.

Well you can't force or forecast friendships no matter how they feel at the moment. I always feel it is better to allow them to progress naturally. I don't think you should worry so much about this and just talk to her. and if you sense that she is misunderstanding you explain that you don't want anything strange but like to consider her a friend.

You may have to wait until you graduate as teachers are discouraged from fraternizing with students these days socially; even same sex. Maybe if you invited her to your families house for dinner for eg. that would be ok (as long as your folks are there, you know.) My sterotype of artistic types, as I am one, is that there is more flexiblity in relationships (as you show.) Good luck with that and I hope you have a long and enduring relationship. xox!!!

although you don't give your age i shouldn't think that there would be a problem in developing a friendship with your teacher. one would have to take care-full consideration if the friendship was to move to another level.
