For Aaron Kampman's first 4 seasons in the NFL it was his job as defensive end to tie up the tackle and guard to allow a linebacker to go for the sack. Now, green bay has switched his defense allowing Aaron Kampman to rush the quarterback. Because of this he leads the league is sacks. Now with his new job, do you think Aaron Kampman will continue to boost huge sack totals throughout his career. Also, has his job of tieing up tackle and guard hurt him in the past. And lastly, could there be other defensive ends in the league capable of doing what he is doing if there defensive job changes?

Well, I think a man named AJ Hawk may also have something to do with it as well. The scheme change has allowed Kampman to get free more, but I believe that some teams have allowed their tackles to underestimate Kampman in favor of focusing on Hawk. He is having a career year, but KGB is down a bit this year also, so it could be because KGB is getting some attention paid to him as well, some OT's may think ok I can take a play off because KGB isn't over me. Will Kampman continue his numbers...no, will they be improved in compared to his first four years if they stick with this scheme...probably. He also has more experience being a 4th year player, most D and O lineman don't start showing their true colors until year 4 and on anyway.

Everything in football is having the right personnel in the right schemes at the right times, so it may be just a matter of correct defensive playcalling, as well as experience, in combination with better players on the team as a whole.

His stellar numbers will not be quite as high next year simply because other teams will figure out ways of taking him out of the equation by using tight ends and other extra blockers. However, knowing his work effort as well as anyone that watches Packer games his level of play will not decrease or fall off tremendously. Eventually he will figure out a way of defeating the double-teams, case-in-point; Reggie White and Sean Jones.
I believe that he has been finally given his chance and found his niche because he has proven himself to be a consistant player.
As far as other ends go and their capabilities, it really depends on the player and the coaches schemes. There is tons of talent out there it is just up to the player to dig deep and show a passion to play, that is just what Aaron shows which in this day and age, is a rarity. Usually when a player gets a substantial new contract their play drops off because their desire to prove themself is gone. In this catagory Aaron is unique and a breath of fresh air. It is good to see a player with a true passion for the game.

As a switched over DE they'd't be too extreme. verify Greg Ellis of the Cowboys' scores there; he's likewise an former end that switched to linebacker. Make Kampman's stats akin to Ellis'. or maybe somewhat bigger for the reason that Kampman is a youthful participant.
