Chappaquiddick happened over 30 years ago. Teddy got out of one big jam he should have done time for. He reportedly had been driving drunk & he did leave the scene of a fatal accident.Somehow he is still a senator, & his influence is pretty shallow.
I think we need to pay attention to what is happening now. Bush & his cronies have assumed massive power & grabbing more.daily. through the use of fear & intimidation.
Yesterday, I learned that he ordered all internet content providers & search engines, such as Yahoo, to hand over a list of all their customers (that's us, folks) to the various govt intelligence agencies. Any of us who type in certain tag words in a search or on a posting are to be flagged & reported again to those agencies.
ALL of them rolled over & played dead, except Google, who fought Bush's order in court & won the first round. The order still stands unless the Supreme Court strikes that order down, which will take weeks or months. And the high court may not do so; he, himself, appointed the past 2 new justices. Big Brother is looking over our shoulders.
Without the events of 9/11, this power grab would have been impossible. He could not have even gone into Afghanistan, much less Iraq, w/o it happening. Now there is evidence that the Arabs may have had govt help. On the link below is a list of various govt experts who want the 9/11 investigation reopened by a truly independent panel. Note that 8 of the total of11 members who served on the committee are included.

For me, the most dishonorable thing about Sen. Kennedy is the speech he gave on July 1, 1987 on the floor of the Senate in which he fired the Democrats' first salvo against Judge Robert Bork. He ranted and raved about how horrible Bork was and in so doing he fired the first shot in the bloodiest war over a Supreme Court nomination in U.S. history.

He was drunk, he wanted to murder her, she was pregnant, and she was a nun who was a scientist that was trying to find a cure for cancer... What's so hard to believe about that?
You forgot the part about the Kennedys paying off the Kopechnes, so that Teddy Boy wouldn't be sued for wrongful death.

So what? It just shows party loyalty doesn't matter as long as you can throw enough hush money at the cops, right?

You are so correct. Ted's old man got him out of that one. I don't believe he murdered her, but then again, drunk driving could be charged as murder.

An unbiased history text book couldn't make that story look any better.
The story is trashy because he is trashy.
And you trying to make him sound like an innocent victim only makes you sound trashy.
