Just say "brotha", dammit. It doesn't take any more effort and it sounds so much nicer and dignified. Do you realize how immature, ignorant and depraved you sound when you throw around the N-bomb? Show a little more respect for yourself and black people. And don't go throwing around childish double standards that create pointless racial tension. Don't disrespect yourself and then say white people can't use the word. Don't expect respect from white people if you can't even respect yourself. When you call each other "n*gga" you sound just like those whites in blackface in the old minstrel shows. Except back then, it was only a negative stereotype made up by white people, but today, you're actually making it true. So stop it! Have more pride than that. As a black person I am personally more offended when black people use the word, and everytime I hear it I have to supress the urge to scream at them. Arrgh. Oh yeah and I'm 20 so don't pull the redundant "uptight old lady" card.

I too hate that word and I'm a white chick. I have always taught my children not to say it either and now that they are ages 17-20 they will be the first to correct others. We are all the same no sense disrespecting ourselves or others with a word that was created by the vicious, evil people of the past. You sound very mature for your age and stand up for yourself as well as others very well. Nice job!!!!!!!!

Because T.V. and Radio have a huge influence on todays youth and todays youth tends to follow what is "cool" (not saying that dropping the "n-bomb" is cool..its just what the all the rappers and teen idols put into their music and on their tv shows)

acctually the white people in those old shows would say something like "damn those n*ggers" instead of "n*gga" but i see your point. and i do find it annoying when i hear it. plus brotha sounds better. and everyone can say brotha or bro without someone callin someone else racist.
