Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's Best screenplay win for Good Will Hunting.
It is a good movie, but not as good as everyone made it out to be.

Halle Berry. She's not a good actress at all. She won the award simply because of her race (or actually half of her race.) Julia Roberts is also horrible. I absolutely cannot stand her. I don't know how or why she is as revered as she is.
I disagree with the comment above that Denzel Washington is undeserving. He was great in Glory and Training Day, the two movies for which he won.
The thing that's great about Washington is, he's not a "black actor." He's just an actor. He's the only black guy I know that doesn't really bring the "black" to his roles. He can just be a "man" not a "black man."

Rachel Weiz in "The Constant Gardener".. I love Rachel Weiz and I love her movies and she's very cute, but I think her performance was a bit over-rated. Also, Reese Witherspoon.. another actress I adore but I always found her past performances as crazy girls to be better than her performance as June Carter.. which was pretty bland, in my opinion to her colorful "Legally Blonde", which is typical to be overlooked by the academy because it's not a painfully boring movie.

I have to agree with Tootsie. Julia Roberts is so overrated. She wasn't that great in Erin Brockovich.
