I have an hp pavillion, and I installed a linksys wireless pci card in it. When I powered on the computer, it won't show up. Any advice?

Put the computer on its side to push in the card. Most likely reason is the card isn't completely pushed into the slot.

If Windows didn't find the drivers in the database of PnP drivers, then you are gonna need to install the drivers off the disc that came with the card or go on the linksys website and download the drivers and install them yourself. This world would have come to an end if PnP was never invented, :/

Right click on my computer, goto manage. Then goto device manager. Then right click on your computer name and scan for new hardware. You might need to install software for it to work correctly.
Normally with cards like that, you install the software. Then it says insert the card. It sees the card and lets you move forward.

my bios has a way to turn off pci ports not in use. If I then installed something in one, they will not work till i turn the port back on.
