Burn lots and lots of CD's... the radio stations will change from state to state and the music is usually different. Also, make sure you stop at least every 2 hours to stretch your body out a bit- everytime i take long drives i get the worst backache at the end! Be safe, have fun!

from my days in the army ive made several long road trips, both in my private vehicle, and in a military semi. first off, get plenty of rest. stop if you can every 2-3 hrs,and use the rest room whether you have to go or not, drink water.dont talk on the phone as youll be pre occupied and not paying attention to what the idiot talking on theyre phone is doing. at each rest stop, stretch.
for your vehicle:
check the oil, should be between the low an hi marks when cold
top off your coolant,if possible use a antifreeze checker to make sure the protection level is correct
check your tire pressure, and correct as necessary
also look at the tread area of your tires for anything that doesnt belong, like screws nail etc.lil rocks are ok ( i know sounds stupid, but youd be surprised )

Get a good book on tape or CD. It makes the trip fly by. You can check them out at the library, or buy one at a book store, but they are expensive.

don't drink too much coffee or you'll have to go pee soon into the trip. Put some music that will keep you up. experts say whistling or huming simple tunes increase concentration.

yeah, don't go. but if you must i suggest you get some music going and some potato chips. and don't get killed by inbred rednecks in arkansas when you and your friends decide to canoe down a river that is about to be dammed up.
