I think it's just jealousy. get over yourselves guys. you know you sit in your small european cars wishing you lived in america. america has the best movies and the best music and the best overall personality. europeans just need to shave their nasty armpitts and take baths. and yes i have been to europe. and i hated it. because europe suck. thats why all the europeans come to america.... they can't stand it over there. to hide their dislike with their home country, they talk about america. all europeans want from america is our money and our weapons. GET YOUR OWN. stop calling us when you get yourself into wars. especially germany.....they're so bent on world domination it is pathetic. europe was destroyed after wwii, america was and will always be the number one superpower.

A lot of people dislike you Americans now 90% of its down to your bad foreign policy. I wouldn't say your better of than European in any ways. Check the UN's best spots to live your like 5th behind European country and Canada.

Your very racist and intolorant you dont export much in the way of weapons to europe actully last time i checked your importing european designs. The harrier jump jet. made in the uk! your abrams tanks are made of armor made in the uk. if you do as some expect start using the G36 assault rifle well its German!. They don't need there own weapons they are amongst the biggest exporters of arms. France, the UK, Sweden all export a lot of arms so does Russia there all in Europe. You defently dont give them money The euro is worth more than the US dollar now. They dont get them selfs into wars actully since world war 2 you have been the only major nation starting wars Why dont u STOP? Personally id much prefer to live in Europe than the US you enjoy the befits of good health care systems the best education to name a couple.

which part of Europe you been 2 anyway? i'm English (originally live in Australia now not cos it sucked cos my parents are farmers) spend a bit of time in northern France lovely place really enjoyed it there and i'm going to Denmark next year to visit my gf

To the original poster: you sound like an uber-patriot (read: f*cking arrogant moron). Please don't ever visit a foreign country. You are an embarrassment to people such as myself who want to travel badly, but lack appropriate funds and/or time.


Now, onto my next part, a rant. I am fed up with some attitudes and views held by Europeans and other foreigners, on the web and in real life. So let me dump it all here. Here are some things I have noticed:

1.) Bashing the United States and its citizens is sometimes "fashionable", in that it is done so one can look/feel good. Example: there was a French man (can't remember his name) that expressed his sympathy or whatever following the 9/11 attacks, by saying "we're all Americans". Well, upon the invasion of Afghanistan (I believe), he retracted that statement and expressed his "anger" (I believe it was an article). Seriously, quit being shallow and make up your damn minds - it appears as if you aren't being yourself.

2.) Redundant stereotypes (e.g. Americans suck at geography, they're fat, they're ignorant, etc.). It has become so common within the past few years. These stereotypes are often brought up ad nauseam.

3.) Calling the U.S. a "third world country". It's funny how you call us ignorant.

4.) Head-in-Sand syndrome. Example: Australian poster arguing about racism in America, but when the issue of racism in Australia is brought up by an American poster (who had lived in Australia for a few months), the Aussie ignores that part of the argument.

5.) Europeans saying they're "afraid" of America, when they really aren't, and probably don't have a reason to be. Seriously, if you trust a country like North Korea or Iran with nuclear weapons more than the U.S., then you are an idiot.

6.) Ethnocentrism / Eurocentrism. You know, telling us we don't have a culture. What a load of horse crap. Euros come from older cultures, with many more traditions. We have a "younger" culture, as a result of the other cultures blending, which are brought in from all parts of the world.

7.) Saying we're "not secular". Abortion is still legal. Forcing religion down the throat of people in society is illegal. I can be "Godless" without worry. This is not to say that people (neo-cons) get away with the above. Also, I doubt Bush is personally against stem-cell research. Bush has to cater to his supporter bases, so what does he do (like every other politician)? HE LIES. Sorry to tell you the truth (since it hurts and all), but the proportion of American Christians is on a decline (particularly Protestantism), while the proportion of non-religious/atheists/agnostics is increasing. Look up "religion in the united states" on wikipedia, the statistics are there. Despite the evangelical nutballs in the media, the U.S. isn't anywhere near religious as some perceive, and is more secular than it was 50, 100, 200, etc. years ago.

8.) Forgetting that American politics and the American people are two different entities.

9.) Forgetting that we are a *huge* nation, in terms of population and land area. It is virtually impossible to unite 300+ million people on many issues. You might think Americans don't travel/go on vacation, but believe me, we do, and you don't always hear about it. We also don't need a passport to travel to Canada, Mexico, and (I think) the Caribbean nation (passports will be required next year, though).

10.) Forgetting the many positive things we have done! We have contributed lots to technology, medicine, science, etc. We still provide international aid. This internet thing you use is one of them. ;)

Well, I can't think of anymore, but you probably get the point. Of course, the above behaviors/views are present here as well (in their respective ways). Overall, I don't think America is better or worse than Europe, and I take a great interest in the world itself and all of its people (hence why I will soon hold a bachelor's degree in geography).
