embarrasssment is cognitive self appraisal, we realize we have done something foolish or incorrect, even if it is unintentional. That feeling in turns motivates us to to the right thing in order to avoid being embarrassed and peoples negative reaction. Embarrassment should not be confused with guilt. Feeling guilty when it is appropriate is a positive thing. It means we know we did something wrong intentionally and its a emotional and social punishment for pre meditated wrongs. Guilt as a result of cognitive self appraisal is good.

what I have learned about it is others see it differently. A nip felt, is cognitive for learning social communications. embarrassment is being in the wrong place at the wrong time and teaches something different.
