He works his magic by laying a finger aside of his nose, and gives a nod. It takes him up chimneys, and though there is no documentation on it, this takes him down chimneys, and starts the sleigh up.
I think Rudoph's red nose has special powers, but that is my opinion, I have seen no research on that.
It is a good thing Santa doesn't use gasoline for the zillions of miles he travels, there would be a gas shortage for awhile after Christmas if he did!
He does use the time zones, and keeps well ahead of the dawn. Tune into the NORAD broadcast of his progress through the skies on Christmas eve. Just think! The children on the other side of the world have got their presents, and here we have hardly gone to bed!
He is a wise old elf, that Santa! Merry Christmas to you and your nieces!

The others are right, Santa is magic. This is not just an easy out, it is necessary to preserve the belief in Santa as long as possible. With my kids (9 and 6), I often agree with their wonder about how Santa can do certain things, and say, "honey, I don't know, I suspect it may be this, but Santa is magic and very important and he doesn't tell me specifics". I have to say this end stuff b/c I do claim to call him a few days before Xmas to discuss requests, behavior, etc.

It's just a matter of time for me. I'm amazed it's lasted this long.

Good luck.

Due to the world being on different time zone he is able to make it to all the houses in one night along with the "magical" feed the reindeer eat in order to fly so he doesn't have to take a flight out of Denver Airport

Santa uses the most extreme form of high tech transportation, and he's also able to be in different places at the same time!
His sleigh is powered by love, so nothing will stop him from getting to every home in the world, where boys and girls are waiting for him.
Merry Christmas to you and your neices.

My parents alway told me that it was because of the different time zones -- when it wasn't night at my house they would tell me it was night somewhere and Santa was delivering to those people.

Santa uses the world's time zones to his advantage. In addition, he is capable of transcending the space-time continuum to accomplish what we simple humans cannot begin to comprehend. To us, it is magic...

Just tell them that it's Christmas Magic, and if they know the truth then Christmas would not be the same.
