Oh no dear, that setting isn't for bread. It's for legos, puzzle pieces and batteries.
That guy is serious about reporting us all. I just got 6 violation e-mails with cat poop attachments.

Well, I see two possibilities:
First, the control is just a resister. It adjusts the amount of heat, not the time it toasts. It is a simple control, and the coils they use don't brown evenly unless there are enough to burn the toast black with no resistance.
Second, somebody may have thought that people might put something else in the slot besides toast at some point and might want a hotter setting. (Something frozen, perhaps)

You deserve a famous guy or woman for that poser my pal. What an surprising question. the youngsters could consistently substitute the placing so muggins' right here burnt the toast. I have not any theory why manufacturers enable one in each of those long warmth placing. possibly, in basic terms possibly. There would be a conspiracy at artwork right here, whether i'm no longer able to think of who could earnings on me burning the kitchen curtains. - except the toaster making people are in cahoots with the curtain and blinds sales people. probable no longer however.

Oh, you'd be surprised what burnt up piece of crap toast some humans just LOVE. I ran three hotels and almost every day someone would nearly start a fire trying to burn up their toast because they like it that way. And then they leave the setting like that and the next normal person's toast is destroyed. I have never understood it.

My toaster has that, and I have to turn it almost all the way up to cook my waffles, but if I did that for my toast it would definetly burn the crap out of it.

For people like me who want toast in a hurry and smart enough to stop it before it actually burns. ;)

because sometimes people toast bread straight out of the freezer, and since it's frozen it needs a higher setting to allow for a longer period of time for the bread to firstly defrost, and then toast.
