I would say "Why?" and wait and see if they tell me I look fat.

Well, if i was with my wife and the stranger would not back off, we would go into this sarcasm where we just play the whole pregnant thing up, that she IS pregnant, but it is not my child and we have these words and embarrass the crap out of the person

I would tell them as kindly as I could:
"Pardon me, I don't know if you know this, but it is not polite to ask someone if they are pregant, much less ask them if they are sure. Each person is responsible for their own health, you need not question my personal health."
I would be tempted to say, "Are you sure you're not a moron? No? Really are you sure?," but I am too kind.
When I've had folks say, "Hey are you pregnant?" I say, "No, just expecting.... Expecting to exercise more (so I don't get this question)!"

This has happened to me too (but i have not had children)! It hurt my feelings really bad but i had to look at their side too, it did appear that i was pregnant. But that person should not have said "are you sure" even after you told them you were not! It's just rude!

I think I might say, "I don't know. Are you sure you didn't have an upper lobotomy?" Give a cold stare and walk away.
Or, any time you are asked an inappropriate question, you can always respond with, "Why is it that you need to know?" That usually shuts them up.

I would have fun with that one, if it were a guy I would ask him if he were pregnant, that might make him think. If it were a woman I would say "yes, are you?" Happy Holidays. Don't worry about what others think of you as long as you are happy with yourself. Just have fun. :)

He/she was either on drugs or was so embarrassed to find that you weren't, that he/she just kept pursuing the matter. Don't you hate that when people just keep humiliating you like that? It's like, HELLO! You aren't supposed to bring stuff up like that unless you know what you're talking about!!!!!!
Sheesh!

How rude! Nothing like saying " Gee, you're fat ". or something like it. I would just say-yes, I'm sure, but thanks for asking, it really made my day-and walk away. Kids stick with us for a long time in more ways than one-good luck!

i'd say "well, i'm pretty sure, but if you want, we could stroll over to health&beauty, pick up an ept and you can wait outside the ladies room for the solid proof you obviously need"

First of all, it will never happen to me, but if I was a girl, I would slap the heck out of them and say stop saying that.
