unfortunately no. Death of a close loved one always takes a toll. Just try to be there for each other, that is the only thing you can do. Sorry no magic pills, no cure all's for grief. Not even time. People say that time heals all wounds but that is a lie. If anything they get worse, we just learn to cope with them better through experience.

Choose a movie (a comedy) to rent the night before Christmas and stay up late with him. Christmas Eve might be the roughest time for him. I would also fix some popcorn and snacks to eat while you watch it. You might invite some others to be ther with you. After the movie a few hands of Euchre or another favorite card game might be appropriate. This might settle him down enough to talk before bedtime and he would get a better sleep. I hope that this helps. Have a Merry Christmas and a HaPpY NeW YeAr!!

Sorry, no quick fix remedies here. I am sorry for your loss but unfortunately that is life for you. I went to a funeral yesterday, 3 days before Xmas. My mum's uncle passed away and l am also concerned that mum's aunt will not cope real well especially over the xmas period. It's terribly sad but nothing we can do about it. I would suggest you just be there for each other. Comfort one another and show you care. I guess that's all any of us can do. Good luck l wish you happiness and strength.

I'm sorry for your loss. My mom died in September and I am missing her a lot. Just be there for your dad. Let him know you love him. Maybe make a Christmas toast to your Nana. Talk about her. She will always live in your memory.

Unfortunetly the first year is the hardest one, or so I hear. I lost my wife 3 months ago and it has not been easy holidays. I do not feel like celebrating and only bought presents for our daugther, not going anywhere for xmas dinner. We are staying home as she does not want to go anywhere and celebrate.
Just let him deal with it on his own. Give him space if you notice him tearing up. He just needs a few minutes to gather his thoughts. =)

Holidays are always hard when someone is missing. Just hug your Dad and tell him you love him. If you see him sad, go over to him and tell him you miss her too. You're always going to remember her and that's a good thing. The pain will lessen in time. I am sorry for your loss.

it's going to be rough for some time to come. i'm sorry for the loss you're family has gone through. think of what she'd want for you to do. maybe you can sing a favorite song of hers or get out something that she gave or made for you to honor her memory. share some stories and that will make it a healing process for you all.

Turn it into something happy. make a gift of som pictures or movies of the good times you had. Make something that will make you both smile when you look at it, and she will be with you.
