Yes, I did just watch her special on TV (although, wasn't it a re-run? I have a feeling I watched at least parts of it before).
The reason I ask is because I think I heard somewhere that she is Jewish, and it struck me when she was interviewing the Palestinian suicide-bomber who says all Jews should go to hell.

Boston, Massachusetts Walters is the eldest daughter of Louis Edward Walters (1896-1977), a Jewish immigrant from London, England, who was a theatrical booking agent, and his wife, the former Dena Seletsky. In 1937, her father opened the first of a famous chain of nightclubs known as the Latin Quarter; he also was a Broadway producer (he produced the Ziegfeld Follies of 1943).[2] Walters' younger sister, Jacqueline, was born developmentally disabled and died of ovarian cancer in 1988. She also had an older brother, Burton, who died of pneumonia in 1932

I believe she is. I got this info about Barbara Walters:
