Sperm can live for up to a week, more typically 3-5 days.
There is no day of your cycle that is 100% safe from pregnancy, but the 8th day is a particularly good chance to get pregnant. If you don't want to get pregnant, get yourself to a drugstore ASAP and purchase some Plan B.
Why on earth are you having unprotected sex?

you can get pregnant from having unprotected sex at any time during you cycle, sperm can live for several days and there is no way to know when you are going to ovulate during your cycle. Just because it's usually 31 days doesn't mean it always will be.

uh oh... maybe you shoudl use a condom next time.. you are aroudn your fertile time. sperm can live in the body for up to 5 days.....go buy a pregnancy test if you miss your period and buy some condoms while your at it!!! PEOLPLE USE THEM TO PROTECT FROM PREGNANCY AND STD's since you seems not to know what they are.... since you are naive and young...
but you are around your fertile time of the month.... use a condom next time.. or why not go right away to your loce planned parenthood and get the morning after pill!
the pull out method is not an effective method. many people become pregnant this way. there is pre c um which has millions of sperm in it that neither of you can feel coming out.... and it only take on little spermy to fertilze the egg!
going ot the bathroo doestn work either! once be releases in you they are already in the uterus and stuck to the membrane swimming up into the uterus as well... dont listen to the woman above if you do not want to become a mother!! please ignore her. since you dont want to ruin you future by making a stupid mistake... going ot the bathroo after sex only prevents urinary tract infections.... doesnt prevent you from becoming pregnant at all trust me....
the sooner you take plan B(mornign after pill) the more effective ti will be at preveting the egg from implanting on the uterine wall. the longer you wait the more less efective it will be..

Enjoying the feeling of motherhood and raising a family would surely be a couple’s dream. Some get it naturally, while for some others things don’t seem to work as they desire. These reasons which stop a women from conceiving can be due to either physical reasons or truly physiological.

As someone who used to work as a RN for many years I can tell you that you can get pregnant any time you have sex. "Pulling out doesn't work because precum has thousands of sperm in it and neither one of you can tell if it leaks out.
There is no such thing as "protected sex"! Condoms fail about 15% of the time to prevent both pregnancy and catching STD's. Not having sex is the only way to protect yourself from pregnancy and STD's.
Using b/c pills plus a condom is the next best way after that but the b/c pills do nothing to protect from STD's.
As someone who used to work as a RN, I am alarmed about how much ignorance and misinformation young people have. It's no wonder that so many people experience such heartbreak in their lives and some lives are ruined at such a young age.
Please get informed and be as safe as you can.

OK, here is some pointers. You CAN NOT get pregnant if you are not ovulating. For someone with a normal cycle they will usually ovulate 14 days BEFORE the first day of your period. If you have a 30 day cycle, ovulation occurs on cycle day #16. This means if your period is suppose to start on the 14th of Jan. you will most likely be ovulating on the 31st of December. So hopefully your cycle is regular and you are safe.
After this scare protection would be something very important to consider. We all know that condoms, birth control, and abstinence is the safest ways to prevent pregnancy, but that just isn't for everyone...like me for example. I heard pulling out works miracles if he is able. I use the bathroom method myself and it worked for 3 years so far so...anyways...good luck to you on what ever happens and whatever you decide.

You can get pregnant anytime you have unprotected sex...even on your period, since sperm can live for several days after ejaculation.
It's also hard to get the exact day of your cycle correctly. That's why the rhythm method of birth control is so fraught with unwanted pregnancies.
Good luck...

You can get pregnant at ANY TIME during your cycle, even during your period! It's because one does not know exactly when the egg is released, and if sperm are still alive (yes, they can live up to a day or two), they can find a nice, juicy, viable egg to meet up with... a Presto: Baby!

You can get pregnant anytime you have sex. . . anytime. Unprotected sex raises the possibility by 100 fold. Each DROP of semen contains over 50,000 sperm and they can live for up to 72 hours and travel up into the fallopian tubes to impregnate you. Of course, unprotected sex also has the beauty of passing ANY form of STD including herpes, syphillis, etc.
The bottom line is . . . . that was STUPID (unless you are looking to become a mother).
Even "protected" sex is not 100% safe. You can get pregnant ANYTIME you have sex.

I was there...between the 8-15th day you can get pregnant. I did. a long time ago..You probably aren't, but why would you go thru this heartache every month. Birth control, condoms, etc. are easily available. If you are old enough to have sex, then aren't you old enough to go into Walgreens and grab 3 condoms. It's not like anyone will stop you.
Good luck
