read the story of Jesus' birth in the Bible to the child and let him know what Christmas means. I do not blame him for not believing in the orgy of materialism that passes for holiday spirit these days. Get back to basics and cut the crap until the child is clear on the meaning and the reason for the season.
What's that? Not Christian? Then what the ***K are you talking about there is no reason for your problem because you have nothing to celebate and the child is absolutely right.

Well, you take that child to a church or somewhere and show him the nativity scene. Explain the whole concept of what Christmas really is.
Bake a cake on Christmas and sing "Happy Birthday to Jesus"
Soon the child will be filled with the Christmas Spirit.
You didn't say how old the child is though.
God Bless and Good Luck

How old is the child? That is an important part of the question. My grandson who is 8 started to have doubts about Santa. Well I had bought the movie "The Polar Express" for the younger grandchildren and the 8 year old watched it. He didn't say anything about it and he didn't ask his parents about Santa again. Two weeks ago I took him and his sister and 2 cousins to Disney World. He found a bell on the ground and he shook it next to hi ear. He looked at me and said "I can still hear the bell" It took me a few minutes to realize that he was referring to the movie and that he was telling me that he still believes in Christmas and Santa.
I don't have any idea how you tell a child that there is no Santa because I never told mine. I can still hear the bells myself.

I would tell him about the ideal of Christmas - the spirit of loving and giving. If he's not seeing that, could be he's feeling a little jaded right now.

does he believe in god?then it wud be easier to take him to a church and let the priest explain to the child.
if he doesn't believe in god, then ofcourse he wont believe in christmas.dont force him/her to believe.everybody has the right to believe in what he wants or not to believe.
but i still thinking the best thing u can do is to take the child to a priest.
