i am watching the oreilly factor (how ever his name is spelt) and it said men on avrage are 4 points smarter than women...honestly i would have thought it the other way around. what are your thoughts?

Well I guess that's right. I know some Men who are very smart and others who are not ( My dad is not )
On the other hand the same can be said for Women some are some are not ( my mom is not ) I'm not very bright :) the thing is we should ALL love each other who cares who's smarter.

I think that we both have our specialties. For some things women are smarter, while for others the men are the ones.
While woman can do 20 things at a time, a man can do at most 2. But, men can find an address faster using a map, while for a woman is more difficult.
This is generally speaking, individual results may vary...

If its true, I still dont think it should matter. We all deserve equal rights at the end of the day. No statistic is going to make me feel any different about that. And in other news, the credibility of Oreilly is very doubtful
Now, what would be really controversial in such a a study is if they should have compared different ethnicities. Wah wa wee wah. Thats certainly asking for some trouble.

I think men and women are equally smart. It depends on what the problem is which decides which particular sex is smarter in that case. One cannot generalize. I know many smart men and also smart women.
I haven't seen the show you have referred to. In matters like this, don't go by what you see on TV and form an opinion based on that. Everyone has smart qualities and how we apply them in day to day life would make others perceive us as smart or otherwise.

I don't know what to say but I believe the smarter ones (women or men) are smarter than the smart-enough ones (women or men).

Strange how so many women say they are smarter than men rather than equal to them. That's a good example of emotions getting in the way of rational thinking.
Men are more rational and better in rational fields (Science, engineering, computers, etc). Women are more creative and emotional.
Unfortunately, women's emotions often confuse them from being impartial and rational where they must (eg politics).
Anyone that denies this has a closed eye to the world. It's obvious in the way both sexes act.

Of course men are smarter. It's been proven that men can think about more complex abstract matters better than women.
We also have a better feel for spacial recognition etc.
Women are pretty much only good at communication. Talk talk talk.
Men do more things. We are way more diversified than women, so naturally we're smarter. It's part of evolution and nature.
What can you learn when you sit at home and nurse a bunch of screaming kids?
Men were out hunting for food etc. You need a brain for that.

Facts dont lie,from experience I know people on yahoo answers do.Remember the question will be won by the more people of that gender to answer the question.Men are smarter its not an opinion but a fact.Men rule the world.Superior in strength and mind.Unfortunately girls are what guys crave therefor are still around.There lack of intelligence and superiority would make them extinct if it wasnt for this

intelligence like all attributes vary per individual so take two people one maybe smarter,dumber or test the same
