You probably have some sort of spyware or malware in your system. A good way to remedy this is to download a free program called Ad-Aware (microsoft highly recommends this). You can scan and clean your PC with it, to get rid of those annoying spywares. Make it a habit to run the program after using the internet at the end of the day.
Get it here:

No this is a hijack. If it does it for every site site you click, you have a serious problem. Err, how do you get here?
If you click a site, and you get a number of pop ups that are not the intended site, then more likely the site you tried to get to has sold to some advertising pop ups that is doing this. Don't go to that site !! ;-)
If you have a hijack problem. Example, trying to go to a well known site, say http://answers.yahoo.com and you get redirected or more likely a pop up for somewhere else, run a virus checker.
If they are pop ups, you could also block pop ups in your browser. This is only a temp solution until you clean out the offending program.

If you click on a legitimate link, this is not considered SPAM. SPAM is unwanted, unsolicited e-mail. You will also find that if you order anything online, you will be inundated with catalogs for similar items the following week.
If unwanted mail comes into your inbox, just click the SPAM button and it will be blocked.
If it goes into your bulk mail, set your mail options, in General Preferences, to display about 25 at a time. In this way you can glance down the list of senders. If you see something you want, click in the box then click "move to" -- move it to your inbox.
If there is nothing you want, click "check all," then click "delete." Done. With two mouse clicks.

Your computer is hijacked.
Download and install and updated SPYBOT and ADAWARE.
Then restart in safe mode, and run both of those programs. Let them fix whatever they find.
That will HOPEFULLY fix it.
