I have had cell service since it came out 20 years ago and have had many providers. Right now I can tell you of 2 cos. Nextel/Sprint sucks. Verizon good. 2 year contracts are evil but I think are hard to avoid.

I have Cricket, best bang for the buck. Have had a few dropped calls and I work on an island so some spots you can't get service no matter what the provider. But otherwise pretty good service and no customer service issues thus far.

I have Cingular and they suck big time. I have to call them almost every month about charges on my bill that are incorrect. The latest issue I had with them was for international roaming charges ($65 worth) even though I have never made a call to amother country nor have I received calls from another county. The customer service rep told me they were legit charges and I just needed to pay my bill instead of trying to get out of them. She was very hateful. Then she spoke to someone (I don't know who) else in customer service, and come to find out, it was a mistake they had made. I was charged international roaming fees for calls I made while on a business trip to Virginia (I live in NC), and I have a nationwide plan so that I won't have roaming when I'm on business trips.

i have t-mobile, and i cant complain too much, my friends say they have alot of dropped calls, but truth be told,

1.) they were the only people who would give me a cell phone with my credit

2.) they're one of the cheapest companies around

3.) i did EVERYTHING all online

4.) they did the whole "free phone with activation" thing for me, so i didnt actually have to pay for my phone

5.) they even gave me a free bluetooth earpiece.

so i cant complain that much. i can update my account, or minutes, or whatever else i want to online, and so far i havent even really had that many dropped calls, (in fact, most of them are when i was driving out of service range, no, i wasnt driving, i was in the passenger's seat, but the car was moving out of my coverage area, non-the-less.)

i guess if i owned t-mobile i'd be rich, and probably alot lazier than i am now, so i probably would be doing even less than what they're doing, and be doing a worse job than they are about customer service and what not.

the only thing i've heard, is, my unlimited nightime minutes, are supposed to start at 9PM and all, well, they start at 9:01PM. so if i get right on the phone at 9:00PM, its one of my anytime minutes, and god forbid if i'm already over my limit.

but that hasnt happened yet.
