Of course past expleriences dictate our future. I would be more apt to use the word shape though. Past experiences make someone who he or she is and therefore affect decisionmaking processes. Every occurance affects a decision in one way or anyother the only variance is by how much. Reacting to something and the subconscious decision of what emotion display is a change in your behavior due to a past experience.

They dont dictate as much as they do give reference for how some things will go down in the future. Past reference is always good in a decision that will affect your future. Learn to listen to yourself and your gut intuition and you will be okay.
