How did King Kong get his name?

did some one say "hey look at that big ole monkey, I think I'll name him King Kong"?

He climed the empire state building and people said "look at the size of that kong, Its king sized." and it went from there.

Kong means Gorilla and being the Biggest makes him the King Kong.

Hong Kong is based on its Chinese name Xiang Gang. But in Cantonese, it is pronounced as Hong Kong, because HK people speak Cantonese mostly.
