I have a HP dvd writer and it was working perfectly burning everything. Now is not reading any type of Cds and even when I open its properties (to configure autoplay) for blank Cds is all blank. I've ran chkdsk and it shows F invalid parameter. I don't know what else to do!!! I hve try the HP website and nothing to help myself in this problem.

I have hp DVD writer and it's driving me crazy, it does the same I delete the driver then restart computer a new driver will be installed then it will work.

A cure that usually works is to right click on "My Computer". Then left click on "Properties", then on the "Hardware" tab, then on the "Device Manager" choice. Once there, find the particular drive you are having problems with. Right click on that drive listing, and from the choices, choose "Uninstall". Then exit from there.
At that point, reboot the computer and Windows should "see" the drive as "new hardware" and re-install the correct drivers for it. then try it again to see if it's reading your CD's.
If there's still a problem, you can try buying one of those drive cleaning discs. If all that doesn't work, then chances are you'll have to replace the drive....they're not expensive nowadays, in the $30 to $40 range for very good ones. Good luck.

Try uninstalling and installing the drive to see if that helps other than that get a new one
