It seems like you have an adware in your system. If you're running in Windows XP/2K you can check the memory consumption of every process by pressing CTRL+ALT+ESC and going to the Processes Tab. Check under the Mem Usage for those with a high memory consumption. These are the files that are currently eating a huge chunk of your memory. Please don't terminate anything without knowing what it is, this can make your system unstable.
Knowing spyware nowadays, this is not only a single infection in your system. So the best thing to do is to run HijackThis on your system and post the logs in any of these forums:
