I never was one to want to know before Christmas. But, I remember a guy I used to work with telling of a time it happened with his wife and their son. She was on the balcony, watching him peaking at his present under the tree. She just waited for the boy to leave, and then took the present back to the store, and put a pair of socks in the box instead. Needless to say the expression on his face was priceless come Christmas morning. What could he say? He dared not admit he was peeking in the box!

With the skill of a neurosurgeon, I used a toothpick and teased out a corner of the wrapping paper on a gift, and used the flashlight to look into the hole, when my Mom walked in. I was about 9, and I still get chastised about it every Christmas. And she inflates the story every time she tells it! As kids we were so clueless that we never found the hiding place for presents at our house!

Can't quite remember, but my aunt, when she was younger, used to completely unwrap everything when her parents weren't around, and wrap them back up again! What is the fun in that?

yes. one year me and my brother went into my moms closet and found a box of presents. We carefully opened some of them and we were looking at them when my mom came in the room. She was furious and told us we werent gunna get those gifts now which made us feel horrible. Of course we ended up getting them the next day. we learned a lesson.

No, but I always find out. Like when my husband orders something online (like Broadyway tickets) and the receipt comes to OUR email account .... or when he buys a gift certificate to a spa and it comes across OUR fax machine .... I always play dumb, but it happens all the time. I'll never tell him.

When I was little I was playing Hide and Seek with my brother.
I went to hide under my parents bed, only to find a skateboard! Excellent!!
