Wow thats a good question! I think maybe its cause they fell in love when a girl from a race theyre not all obssesed with but the type they do like is more of a fantasy fetish thing.

Auggie, As long as there are people who are still fulfilling these "stereotypes" in their experiences and expressing a certain mindset that is disenfranchised, then it will continue to give creditably to the usage of certain "images" projected upon the stage of entertainment and what have you. About the news and such, I don't watch the news. But I remember when I was younger, this was so. Blacks are a minority, thus they will be portrayed and reported on in a minor light if something that is done by them good, since people are mechanical many only expect more of the same (you know, those stereotypes), of a certain type of black person. People breathe life into stereotypes. A man is his own suffering. I'm black but on the net no one believes me or they weren't imaging it until they see my picture. I once talked to a guy (white guy) and he said black people don't like philosophy (or so he thought) lol. There is a lot of conditioning, and people live out this conditioning mechanically and project on anyone that fits the label that they have been feed never seeing the actual person, only the label. As for black woman, they are portrayed a certain way often -- but again, what is being portrayed is a aspect of the "black culture." People again breathe life into stereotypes, just when they are about to die, they give them breath to continue. People have to change how they are, and others can't help but to respond differently (in real life) to them when they are sending out a different overall impression.

Physical appearance is the instant reaction but in the long term it's the personality that matters, if you aint happy in a relationship, no amount of sex, begging, or children will change that. There are many single mothers out there to prove this observation.

Because they are worried about what others think. Rather than date who they really might want to, they date who their friends and/or family expects them to date.
