Just be competent and responsible. With all due respect, I would be more concerned about your Professor's perceptions of you, because they are the ones who will matter in your future. Ignore the immature folks, try to join some societies and groups so you can meet more mature people with interests like your own.

Rent a Mercedez and drive it around like crazy all day till fellow students see you in it. Then when they talk to you at school about it the next day just say its your dads and he let you barrow!
