Today, racism is not as big a problem as it was before but still, evern to self-proclaimed non racists, skin color does matter. For example, all the studies conducted on percantage of each race in a given place, or people calling others racist because say a black man was fired from work because really he was lazy and didnt do anything, but he procalimed that it was because of his skin color. This happens all the time in sports and in media as well. People feel that somone is not treated like another person of a different color and immiediately bring up racism. Will this kind of thing help bring about the end of racism or bring up the topic every time two races interract? What are ur views on the issue?

Another thing, thats kind of like what someone said, if two people of different races are dating and someone comes up to them and says that its great that theyre together or a hispanic(example) who is a doctor being told that he is a very good hardowrking man to have become a doctor even though he was a minority. Why cant people just look at the couple as just a couple, not two people of different races, and why cant the doctor be praised for becoming a doctor for all the hard work u have to put in into med school and not just because hes hispanic? Will this ever cease or is it something that cant be stopped?

Racism is as American as the Ku Klux Klan.

As American as Apple Pie.

Baseball, Hot dogs, apple pie and KKK...

Well, there will Always be ad least some form of racism out there. There will also be some form of emotional problem that is in thought sparked by ones thinking of another ones jugement to be evaluated through stereotypical racism. Even though that is not always the case.

Now your probably Polish by your username. People say they are ignorant, poor (in poverty), and crooks with no vivid and beautiful history in their, and their ancestors lives.

people say this because they grow a certain hate for that race of people, so they use it on all the people from the race to release their anger. They gather all these thoughts from people the met that may have looked or spoken in Polish and have caused them pain. Others just use as an excuse or joke out of what they "heard" and not experienced.

Now I know that Not all ( only a percantage, like in any other race) are or do any of the above (steal, lie, poor...) ... and Poland has a VERY vivid and Beautiful history, I've studied it.

And then there are people telling you that you were probably the one that stole the cupcake of your bosses desk ( its an example) because your poor, hungry, and a crook. Or they just say it was probably you without mentioning crook, lier, poor, etc.

You can take that offensively since you were the only accused. But, if you were to be the "red herring" than that would be a partially different story.

So, overall. There are many forms of racism that exist in the world including those who are thought of as racism but aren't. And, in my theory there will always be this concept of racism and it is not something that can be totally controlled yet something that can be held stable, at times only piece by piece..

(sorry that this answer is long)

TO THE POINT... racism will be found offensive even in the most ridiculous issues, like the ones you stated. It depend on the living beings personality and mind in this world.

P.S. I too am part Polish

Racism is alive and well and it isn't limited to sports and the media either. Its everywhere. I have no hope for it ever ending because we are all so politically correct that we can't say to each other how we feel & why we feel that way. Even in a limited forum its such a heated topic that we'd all be at each other's throats.

I confess that I don't understand the black man's views & that I think they use slavery as an excuse for failure too often.

And its a shame that the racism card is sometimes/often? called whenever a black person is released from employment or evicted from an apt or whatever. Because that isn't always the case.

We need stronger leaders on all sides to resolve the problem but I don't see any out there. Do you?

Racism is as big as problem as it has ever been and unless you are non-white you really cannot really say otherwise.

In any event all you haev to do is to come onto this website to see the amount of hate filled, venom spewing bigotry directed towards non-whites each and every day. When people try to contend this it is the victims and not the perpetrators who are attacked. This website is just a microcosm of the racism which still exists in this world.

Subcultures perpetuate racism. Very sophisticated forces are selling each segment of society it's own canned racial identity. Because of pride, nobody wants to reject their own racial subset of values no matter how strange. But they will ridicule the values displayed by the other groups. What ends up happening is that most will never "mainstream" and will belong to a subset for most of their lives. The perpetuated lies will continue. We're all being played to behave as our race dictates we should, and then to dislike the others because they don't measure up.
The truly wise see though this game and measure all from the same cup of good will.

I could care less about race it doesn't matter to me. All racism is are stereotypes. Just because one person turns out to be a certain way doesnt mean the rest of the race is. I say racism is due to ignorance.

Racism is kept alive not by hate but by the people who want to spotlight their differences.

Now racism exists in people wanting to only be with their own kind for security and playing the race card rather than overcoming obstacles.

I despise that it happens, but your right it is there. There is employers who have to hire a certain quota to not have charges or futuristic charges come on them and to cover thier butts! On the other hand we need to focus on the positive because the more we bring this up it can cause more crap! I am very in the middle of how I feel about this whole thing because I see both sides, but my choice is not to feed into it! Have a wonderful weekend!

I hate racism but it seems to still be around more then i had hoped, my friend she is hispanic and she is dating a black guy. They have acctually had people come up to them and say that they think what they are doing is wrong or that black and white shouldn't mix (even though she is hardly white!) Its ridiculous how some people still act.

Racism will always be an issue because some people will never want to change their views. I say if it doesn't affect you personally then why dwell on it? Sometimes all it takes is once voice to make a change...but as a nation we should fight to end it...but like I said some people will never change their views....

i've found that even though everyone says our society is not racist its still filled with racism from head to toe. i mean there probably are people out there who could care less about the color of skin but you get people and songs that are really racist. i personally dont get the whole thing where you can say racist things but it doesn't count if your being racist to yourself? does that make sence? usually thats found with all the gangster kids. and right there, that phrase could be consitered racist. ugh. i think we're all doomed to fail. idk tho
