My goodness no! Life would be incredibly boring. I like politics & religion and anything else we talk about here. But I have fantised that I lived 200-300 yrs ago or at any time before the industrial age when nothing was polluted.

I don't think it would be that great. Prehaps it would get boring and uninteresting. Closeness only goes so far. I think we were made to be a social people so we do need others. Hopefully no one will have to find this out.

My family and friends, and maybe a few people I am not too fond of, throw in a politician or two, an annoying neighbor here or there

yeah.. thought about it too.. i'd be fun..... but you need to **** buddy..
just fantasm that you and your family are the only perso on earth and somewhere on earth there is this one splendid girl that you need to find and she is looking for you too.. Once you found her your goal is to recreate a population ;-)

Well if that came true, we'd have to be plumbers, electricians, technologists, doctors, teachers, scientists, mechanics, carpenters, cooks, gardeners, farmers, and everything else. Yikes!!
