I am 14 years old but people often mistake me for a freshman in collage instead of high school? Personally I think that i should because i think that it would just be cute? And of course my mom won't let me!!

In my opinion its gross. Plus its kinda hard to put up with. I mean just to put it in requires picking your nose

Lol I know what you mean by people mistaking you for a college freshman (it happened to me all the time last year when I was a highschool freshman). I wouldn't get a nose piercing, though, because you're piercing cartilage, so the scar won't necessarily cover up if you decide to take it out (if the hole even closes up). I would wait on it a few years, and if you still think you'll want one for a looong time/won't mind if it never closes up, ask a bunch of people if they think it will look good on you, because it does depend on that. You can always find a good-quality fake nose-ring that look quite real and they don't come along with a very painful piercing and scarring in the mean time (and your mom would never have to know).

My daughter has her nose pierced and it does tend to get infected because it is a mucus membrane. She had hers done when she was about 14 or 15. I let her then because I have three piercings in one ear and four in the other so when she asked I would have felt hypocritical if I would not have let her. She normally wears a small diamond chip in hers, but they don't stay in very well. She is now 22 and most of the time she wears nothing in the piercing. She did when it was first done. If you do get it done, a little advice, rinse day and not with warm salt water. Salt water is the best, do not use neosporin it is not for punctures. It is like when you go to the dentist and have teeth trouble or infection in the mouth. Dentist almost always advise to use salt water. Also, table salt will suffice.

If you're only 14, and your mom says no, that's pretty much it. You should wait until you're at least 16. Then you can use the "But Mom, I'm responsible enough to drive" line on her, provided it's true.

Of course it will be cute--I've had my noise pierced for over a year and I love it.

Unfortuately at your age, there's not much you can do unless you come up with a pretty convincing argument to show your mom that you are mature enough to have it done. And you can't go have it done anyway, because she's going to notice!

Good luck!

I allowed my now-15 yr.old daughter to get one last year. It's a small stud and looks cute. She's had almost no problems with it. I don't see a problem w/facial piercings myself. It's a form of personal expression.

I don't think lip piercings or chin ones are very attractive, 'tho. When my daughter tires of them (she also has a couple eyebrow ones), she'll simply remove them.

I think it's a stage that some people go through, although I've seen a lot of women in their 20's and older with them. It's a matter of personal taste, of course, but I don't think the nose-rings are very attractive.

I think they look cute on the right people, especially if they are the very tiny diamond nose rings. However, I would not get my nose pierced because I wouldn't risk getting an infection in my nose.

I'm not the one to judge...here's what we know--you're 14, mom says NO, and you want it just beacause it's cute...Well, first, I think If I were you I would do anything without your mom's permission untill you're 18..BUT maybe if you really think about why you want this so bad--think everything through..and deep down in your heart find out what a nose ring is gonna do for you. --For your benefit..then when you figure things out, talk to mom again and maybe she will understand, and let you get one, heck, you might even realize your cute for now without it too..

Concerning your nose, you should:
1. Keep your nose out of other peoples' business, and
2. Use a tissue when you blow your nose!
3. That's all!

I don't think you should. I wouldn't want a hole in my nose. But then, that's up to you. Sounds like your mom said no so I guess you have to wait. Think about it though, do you really honestly want to?

i like piercings. nose piercings usually look better if they are rings because studs usually end up looking like pimples. the thing you have to consider tho is, do you have lots of allergies because if your nose gets pluged up a lot and you have a piercing it will be a *****
